Life After Sixth Form

Work Experience

Work Experience gives you the chance to explore new industries beyond theoretical knowledge, discover roles you never knew existed and consider which type of working environment suits you best.  In the current climate, with many workforces now working remotely, it is likely that opportunities have changed to virtual placements that you do from home through your computer. SPRING POD - TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR FUTURE

We launched this new initiative with students this year and have received great feedback from our students. SpringPod (LINK HERE Take control of your future | Meet Springpod)  aims to transform young people's futures by providing life-changing career experiences and opportunities. Over 150,000 young people aged 13-24 have used the Springpod online platform and virtual resources to connect with universities, colleges and employers; from AstraZeneca to Vodafone. All Sixth Form students are encouraged to download the app and use it to access a range of activities in order to enhance their CV.

Higher Education

The Sixth Form Team that our students are given the personalised support and guidance they need to make the best possible choices about their next steps. This includes what and where to study, how to become autonomous learners and to give them the knowledge and tools to make a successful application.

For those students applying to university, we have a programme of support which begins in Year 12 and continues right through to A Level results day and beyond.  The Sixth Form Team act as dedicated UCAS Coordinators, delivering one to one support to students, and running group sessions and whole year group presentations on every aspect of the UCAS application process.  This ensures that students have all the information they need to make informed and appropriate choices for their futures.
