Are you an artist? A scientist? A performer? We’ve got courses to suit all tastes and talents across five option blocks.
No matter which discipline you study you will find resources to enjoy with our 8 science labs, 7 ICT suites, 2 art studios, 200 seat purpose built theatre, recording studio, CNC laser cutter, dedicated Sixth Form bistro, relaxation areas, learning centres and over 70 inspiring teachers, all housed in a new £21M building.
We encourage independence in all aspects of learning, but we know that sometimes even the most gifted students can hit a few bumps in the road. If you find yourself struggling with the workload, or something outside your education is giving you problems, there’s always someone there to help. That’s why Ofsted judged our work in student welfare as ‘Outstanding’.
Let’s face it, even if your attendance and work rate is perfect you’re going to struggle if the person at the front of the room isn’t working hard for you. We’re proud of our teaching team who are dedicated, inspiring professionals who judge their success by your success. Ofsted agree with us, and judged teaching and learning at St. Julie’s as ‘Good’.
So, it’s results day and you’ve smashed it! You’re holding the envelope with an impressive set of grades inside, but what is it that gives you an edge over the other people holding equally impressive grades? That’s where enrichment comes in. You’ll get work experience in a real world placement. You’ll get the chance to make a difference in the community through our hugely successful Christian Action programme. You’ll get workshops that are meaningful. You’ll get visits to places that are worth seeing. You’ll get access to a fascinating programme of Religious Education, appropriate for people of all faiths and none, that will give you something outside of your specialist subjects to engage in. And when you sit down for a job or course interview and your interviewer says “tell me a little about what you’ve done”, you’ll really have something to say!
You probably know where you want to be in two or three years time. We want to get you there, and we’re very good at it. We have consistently been in the top 25% of providers nationally over the last 4 years for validated results. In any given year, approximately 80% of the Year 13 cohort will progress onto Higher Education, with the majority at their first choice of educational establishment. This includes Russell Group Universities and our acceptance rate is higher than the national average.
You’ll probably only apply for University once, but we’ve done it thousands of times! We’ll use all of our experience to give you the best chance of getting to your chosen destination. University not for you? No problem. We’ve got advice on hand for accessing employment and apprenticeship opportunities across all kinds of professions. Not even sure what you want to do yet? Let’s find the way together.
