Students from Year 8 have taken part in the Faraday challenge day this week, run by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
The Faraday Battery Challenge, delivered by All About Futures, All About Stem, had students working in teams to develop new battery technologies. Each team designed and built one prototype which; is capable of using a battery, can help someone with a specific need, or is an educational toy.
Students demonstrated their creativity, planning, ability to work within a budget, resilience and presentation skills. The winning team designed a children's shape sorter.
Project manager Eliza Stephens, described the day as: 'A wonderful learning experience which was interesting, and we learnt a lot about engineering'. Well done Team 2!
