Congratulations to Emmie in 7 Nugent who brought home a massive haul of nine medals and two flags from the Liverpool and District Swimming Championships held at Wavertree Aquatics Centre.
Emmie, who normally trains with Warriors of Warrington swimming club, entered this competition representing her former club of seven years, Everton Swimming Club.
She completed in a huge number of races, including 200m Individual Medley, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 200m breaststroke, 200m front crawl, 200m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke! This led to two gold medals, four silver and three bronze, plus two flags given for fourth and fifth place.
Although young, Emmie has had a long swimming career, starting at 'water babies' at one month old and never walking away from swimming! Her first club swimming was at lessons with Garston Swimming Club before a seven year stay with Everton Swimming Club.
Her next competition is a team gala next weekend, where she swims with the reigning three year champion relay team. This will be followed the next weekend with another gala taking place in Wirral.
We wish Emmie the best of luck and look forward to bringing you more news of her achievements.
