St. Julie’s offers floral tribute to Notre Dame student

Following the tragic events in Liverpool City Centre on 25th November, 6 Form members of our 1804 Society have taken a floral tribute to Notre Dame Catholic College, honouring the memory of their student Ava White.

Ava’s death has come as a profound shock to members of the wider Notre Dame schools' community across the country and indeed around the world. Our student representatives wished to express their sadness as well as support, by giving the heart-shaped arrangement of roses and lilies to students at our sister school. The two schools are in the Trusteeship of the Sisters of Notre Dame and these flowers are found on the crest of both schools.

The sorrow of the Sisters of Notre Dame was articulated to us in some words of condolence from Sister Margaret Walsh, SND, who writing to our Headteacher said: “I am so sorry to hear of Ava’s tragic death. Knowing she was a pupil at Notre Dame brings it so much closer - the tragic loss of one of our family members. I am sure it is a big shock and a great sadness for you too and everyone at St Julie’s as well as Notre Dame Catholic College.”

Our thoughts and prayers go to Ava’s family, and to all students and staff at Notre Dame Catholic College, as they try to come to terms with their loss.
