Congratulations to St Julie’s and our Global Citizenship Ambassadors for winning the Liverpool echo Green School of the Year.
St Julie’s competed against strong entries from primary schools, secondary schools, and alternative educational providers across the city to take the title of Green School of the Year.
It was wonderful to gain recognition for the hard work that has been going on in and around the school. We have introduced a hedgerow into the school to increase the biodiversity in our school grounds and also planted some fruit trees to provide food for the birds that frequent our school grounds.
We have lots of other environmental projects going on in school that the students have been involved in, including the Overbury sustainability challenge that St Julie’s won for our design of a water fountain for school. Our year 9 students will bring all of their environmental studies into focus at the forthcoming ‘Dot Fest’ in July.
