Year 10 Food Preparation and Nutrition students have enjoyed a masterclass in sustainable foods, butchering meat and filleting fish.
Chefs James Holden and Ashley Marsh from the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts have been working with the Year 10 students to improve their practical food preparation skills and discuss ethical issues such as meat and fish sustainability.
The new GCSE Food is more challenging both academically and practically and students now have to demonstrate high level practical skills in all dishes made as well as apply their scientific knowledge their written work.
The morning was very productive and all pupils rose to the challenge and learnt lots of new skills from our experts.
