Chemistry is a well-respected subject, and is highly valued by many employers and universities. It offers access to a wide variety of careers, from consumer science, such as cosmetics, to pharmaceuticals,

engineering, and nursing. Chemistry is also a compulsory subject for entry to medicine and veterinary science.
Students of Chemistry have validated analytical skills, logical reasoning and problem solving ability. While the practical work built into the course demonstrates competencies in areas such as dexterity, ability to follow instructions while understanding why these steps are followed, meticulous attention to detail, ability to work independently, time management, teamwork and mathematical aptitude.
