St Julie was very much ahead of her time when she said, over two hundred years ago: "Education is a twofold process of psychological development and integration into society. Teach them everything that is necessary to equip them for life" So, whether you’re an artist, scientist, linguist or a performer, we’ve got excellent courses to suit your tastes and talents. We’re also justifiably proud of our teaching team of dedicated, inspiring professionals who judge their success by your success. Ofsted agree with us, and judged teaching and learning at St. Julie’s as ‘Good’
Our results speak for themselves. Over the last five years we have achieved a minimum A Level pass rate of 90% at grades A-E; 100% Pass rate for Level 3 BTEC and our ‘Value Added’ score (the key DfE measure for ranking Post 16 provision) is incredibly positive. Many of our courses and qualifications have been ranked in the top 25% and top 10% nationally. To be ranked as sixth out of the city out of more than thirty providers for our results is an excellent achievement and one which can only be achieved with the continuous hard wok of students and staff.
Nationally, around 75% of students progress to university after their A Levels. At St Julie’s around 90% apply each year and are successful at gaining a place as a result of our guidance and support. Although the vast majority of students go on to study at university, we understand that some prefer a more hands-on approach to learning. Over the years we have forged excellent links with The Apprenticeship Hub. Working together with students and their families, we ensure that our students leave with a firm destination. Our NEET figures (0%) are well below local and national average; showing that our students receive excellent personalised support to help them reach their goals.
No matter which discipline you study or which enrichment activities you choose to pursue, you will find resources to enjoy with our 8 science labs, 7 ICT suites, 2 art studios, 200 seat purpose built theatre, recording studio, CNC laser cutter, dedicated Sixth Form bistro, relaxation areas, learning centres and over 70 inspiring teachers, all housed in a new £21M building.
At St. Julie's our students have the opportunity to develop their learning skills in a range of areas and we fulfil the objective that all our students leave as happy, well-rounded and forward thinking young adults.
